When you are homeschooling you do need to always update the B.O.E. (board of education)! I had to send in forms again one is called the Church School Enrollment Form (C.S.E.F.) and the Family Information Form (F.I.F.) to our local county’s B.O.E. so we are okay and can continue our hOmEsChOoLiNg ExPeRiEnCe!
What do you have to do if you move and are a homeschooling family?
Simple just get a copy of the form you filled out when you originally started homeschooling and had to send it to the B.O.E.. If you are new to homeschooling ask your church school for a CSEF and FIF, so you can take necessary steps. It’s not to hard really unless your Church School doesn’t have forms on their site. You may have to contact them directly and request it or maybe they require fee first. We are enrolled in DaySpring Academy and love them! They have a Great Staff and I am so glad I found them back in like 2007. Anyways I recommend searching the website of your Church School or contact them directly cause you cannot legally homeschool without filling out and sending in these forms in the State of Alabama!
Our son loves spending his days at home with us or me usually. We do school work, play games, watch movies, we have fun. It would be nice if his dad could be home more, but he works and attends college. So it’s not always possible for him to be home all the time. Our son also does 3 – 5 subjects per day just depends on him and how he is responding to it. I do not push him or over bore him, he will lose interest and it will be a struggle. Some things are hard now because he has a mild touch of Autism, but he excels in other areas most 10 year old’s cannot. I’m so proud of what he does know and can do on that computer and his general skills. Plus I know I have helped teach him which is a reward in itself, I’m not perfect, but who is at least it’s me and we can work on something for days one on one if needed. That is never an issue!
What subjects did he work on today?
- Reading Horizons
- Math (2 different types)
- Keyboarding
- Language Arts
- Science
He really loves Science and I really love that! I like that I can let him pick different lessons from Science and its something he really likes. We still work on other Science lessons, but I let him choose. It helps a lot in keeping him interested and that is something really important. The more I can keep his interest in it the more he will really learn.
Well it’s late and I just had a heart attack! A Palmetto bug came crawling out from under my bathroom door and it scared the daylights out of me, as I wasn’t expecting it! I mushed him though! So you all have a great day/night which ever it is for you!
Have fun and remember everyday is a learning day!
