When I was a young girl and in elementary school I couldn’t wait for summer break because we would get to spend it at Grandma’s house! Who doesn’t love their grandma house getting spoiled and special treatment because you’re her first and only Grandchild this far. When summer would come we would take one trip each year and it would be to Cedar Point in Ohio or we would head down South to our family we see every other year.
The trips to North Carolina really were the best at least now. As a kid I loved the amusement park, but now as an adult I am consumed with the memories of being in that old red stationwagon driving. We would always get a room half way there and we would swim, it was great! I really love it today because I just remember so many things and a lot less of that amusement park. I remember my Aunt sat on a needle in the back seat and oh did she scream. We often would have to all get out of the car to get a bee out and sometimes we’d just listen to i oldies music and had a good ole time singing and making our trip special. Things I didn’t realize would be so special till I was older and could look back on them. Those were the best times and I truly appreciate and cherish them! I do wish Grandpa could have made the trips with us each year, but he never made it. Grandma made it special for all of us Girls!

Grand parents really can create a bond with their grand kids that can really be educational / inspiration yet not too demanding as they’ve mastered parenting through time.
